This summer, the 2026 FIFA World Cup arrives in New York and New Jersey. But you don’t need a ticket to MetLife Stadium to experience the magic of the pitch.
Thanks to the ABNY Foundation’s “World Cup for All” Community Grant Program, the spirit of the world’s most popular sport is coming directly to our streets. Fifth Avenue Committee (FAC) is proud to be among a select group of community-based organizations chosen to lead this effort, ensuring the tournament’s legacy reaches every corner of our neighborhood.
Scoring Goals for Equity and Inclusion
For decades, FAC has been a champion for economic, social, and racial justice. Whether we are developing affordable housing, providing adult education, or organizing for tenant rights, our mission is to build a more inclusive and equitable New York City.
The “World Cup for All” grant ensures that the tournament’s $3 billion economic impact—and its sheer joy—isn’t restricted to those in premium seating. By partnering with FAC, the ABNY Foundation is investing in a team that knows the heart of Brooklyn.

Why It Matters
In a city of constant change, FAC ensures that long-time residents are never left on the sidelines. The “World Cup for All” initiative recognizes that sports possess a unique power to unite people across language and economic barriers.
“The FIFA World Cup is a once-in-a-generation event for our region,” the ABNY Foundation noted in their announcement.
By empowering organizations like FAC, this initiative ensures the tournament’s true legacy isn’t just about stadium goals—it’s about building stronger, more connected communities.
